THE MARKER RECOGNIZES THE RICH MUSICAL HERITAGE OF THE BLACK COMMUNITY. THIS IS THE SECOND MAKER PLACED IN THE CITY, THE FIRST BEING THE BO DIDDLEY MARKER NEAR THE TRAIN STATION.
LITTLE FREDDIE KING WAS HUMBLE TO BE INCLUDED AND HAVE HIS NAME ALONG SIDE FAMOUS NATIVES LIKE; WAKEFIELD "BIG MOODY" CONEY - A LONGTIME LOCAL FAVORITE. VASTI JACKSON, ROBERT "THE DUKE" TILLMAN, LARRY ADDISON, RANDY WILLIAMS AND "CHAINSAW" DUPONT.
